Gaojing Thermal Power Plant is located in Shijingshan District--a suburb west of Beijing and was built in early 1960s. All 6 generating units were completed and put into operation on October 6th, 1974 with total installed capacity of 600MW.Gaojing Power Plant was named as the " First Class Coal Fired Power Plant" by the State Power Corporation in 2001.

Power generated by Gao Jing is transmitted to the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Power Grid via two 220kV and nine 110kV transmission lines, which hold a large proportion in the total power consumption of Beijing----the Capital of China.

Datang Power owns 100% interests of Gaojing Power Plant.
