Xiahuayuan Power Plant is located in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. The plant began construction in 1937. It underwent five phases of expansion.The plant's current main generating assets comprise two 100MW units that commenced operation in 1982 and 1983,respectively,and a 200MW unit that commenced operation in 1988.Total installed capacity reaches 400MW. Power generated by Xiahuayuan is supplied to the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Power Grid via two 220 kV transmission lines and one 110kV transmission line.

Datang Power owns 100% interests of Xiahuayuan Power Plant.
